I went to a hardware store once and waited for about twenty minutes, while two salespeople stood a couple meters away from talking about things that weren’t related to work at all. I eventually left, and bought what I needed somewhere else.
There is a fine line between pushy salespeople and those that are taught to only contact if the customer approaches and asks for assistance. Then there is Berle…..don’t complain….at least you got a chair.
if you don’t tell them you need help they’ll assume someone else is helping you, . . . after all, who’s dumb enough to just stand around for twenty minutes
I’ve done that to customers once or twice… went into the back, had my coffee break, loaded up a cart for stocking later and went back out to tell them that my guys had gone home for the day lol

no denying – Berle has some humanitarian side to his personality; unfortunately, not a smart one, though.

This is actually better than the average outcome. Once a “rush period” is over and they have made a few sales, staff finds other things to do.

And Berle wanders off, leaving the potential customer stewing.

Like hurricane Beryl, this Berle also moves in mysterious ways.

Have a seat, sir, it’s going to be a long wait.
I love that Berle is following the arrows instructions to carry that box upside down.
