Or old time radio shows, as I said in an earlier comment on a different strip.

To stream the Red Sox is 30 dollars a month. That’s HBO Max and Netflix almost combined. No thanks.

Sometimes I prefer baseball games on the radio because they call all the plays. TV announcers know you are watching so they spend too much time yakking with each other. Radio announcers will even interrupt each other to call the play.

My father only listened to games when the Univ. of Wisconsin was playing, always on the radio because none of the three TV channels in Chicago broadcast those games.

Used to be a fan – went to a lot of games – then I quit watching pro sports because of the greed. When the players went on strike (NFL ’87) and tried to block paying fans from going into the stadium to watch the replacement players, it got ugly. The Philly Eagles linebackers started fighting with the fans – haven’t watched a pro game since. College has lowered themselves to the greed gutter since the teams are openly competing for TV money.

I canceled MLB network. They cut a Dodgers/Tigers game off in the 9th inning, with the score tied, to show the start of another game! UNFORGIVABLE!!!

There is a certain nostalgia about listening to a baseball game on the radio – summertime, sitting in the shade of a big tree, sipping a cola.

A good baseball announcer is better than watching it on TV. Tom Hamilton of the Guardians is always worth listening to.

My neighbors in Norfolk didn’t have AC. In the summer they would sleep on the “summer porch” and have the baseball games on the radio to listen to. They were in their 80s in the 1980s. Still miss them.

Subscription TV packages – cheap for two years then pay with your arm, your leg and an eye because you could not see beyond the “Two Year Subscription Package Deal.” Sure you can unsubscribe anytime but I don’t know anyone who unsubscribed until the $400 + bill showed up lol
