Sad but true. But as Mark Twain said "When I was ten, I thought my parents knew everything. When I became twenty, I was convinced they knew nothing. Then, at thirty, I realized I was right when I was ten. " No true of all parents, of course.
We were embarrassed to be seen in public with our parents too. It’s part of being a teen. Once you become more secure, the pendulum swings back. At least it should.
