Manilow’s first hit “Mandy” was written by Scott English and titled “Brandy”. It was renamed “Mandy” so it wouldn’t be confused with “Brandy” by Looking Glass. English didn’t like the remake at first but years later confessed that every time he bought a house using the royalties he liked it even more.
My sister was a big Manilow fan, but Dad and her boyfriend (later husband) liked the sound of one of his album titles: “Bury Manilow Alive.” (Personally, I enjoy much of his stuff, especially “Copacabana” and “Singing to the World,” but don’t make an effort to hear it.)

For tomatoes try Enrico Caruso.

I’m always amused by people who love to hate on artists who have sold millions of multiple songs.

Could her play list also explain Jan’s dire dating outlook?
