Chief is not wrong.

Half days? Isn’t that a fancy name for part time work?

Brutus shot himself in the foot this time.

Keep your not so bright ideas to yourself, Brutus.

Brutus seems to have worded it wrong, but same results.

But Brutus, you only work an eighth day now.

I didn’t see that one coming. I was expecting Veeblefester to say he’d be estatic to get 4 hours of work from Brutus each day

To those of us who have been self employed or worked in new home construction or drove a truck, a half day has always been 12 hours. That is why at 62 I finally have the body of an 86 year old.

…or he could work from home!

If Veeblefester thought he could get away with requiring everyone to work 12 hours a day for the 8 hour a day salary, he would try it.

When I was working I always hoped the company would try 4 10 hour days or some such combo. Then You’d have 3 day weekends all the time. But alas the ones I worked for never tried it. I read someplace that people on a 4 day workweek were more productive and happier.

does it also affect pay as well… may not be worth it then. :j

Way to turn it around Chief!

My first full time job was the best, a 14 hour shift work day. 2 days on and 2 days off. We had a “weekend every third day”. We could take. Everyone got a 3 week vacation by taking off 6 days!

Absolutely Loved our 12 hour schedule. A week off every month & a 3 day weekend on another! With my 6 week Vacation every year, it added up to over 18 weeks off a year!

Now, bossman could reclassify every worker as part time and thus cut out their medical and dental benefits. This would give them more time…to find another job.

Brutus would object too.

I still think 4-10hr days is better than 5-8hr days

we always said that at the mill when they complained about working 12 hours. “what are you bi***ing about? it’s only half a day!”

Of course the Chief would settle for Brutus working half of his 8 hour day.

Wait until the other employees hear the Brutus proposed a 12 hour workday, it won’t be safe for him to hang out at the water cooler.

And if they went to four-hour daily shifts, that’s all well and good. But I’ll only go along with that if they double my salary. I need to keep making the same amount of pay.

Well that took a bad turn. I already do that. It’s not bad because I get days off through the week.

Bossman might agree to having him work half time as long as Brutus is willing to work for half pay.

there’s a dire shortage of workers here in japan as the population shrinks and ages so lawmakers of course found a way to make the problem worse by placing restrictions on the amount of income that a significant portion of the labor force, older women, can earn. then they compounded the problem by increasing the minimum wage, which has the effect of additionally decreasing the hours women are able to work…

What’s it like working for a sadist, Brutus?

If the price was right and for. 3 days in a week. I would give it a shot …..

Sounds like my work schedule, but at least there are weekends.
