Maybe he’s a deficiency expert…..

He decided the bus was cheaper than a taxi.

That was my experience with them.

An efficiency expert concluded his lecture with a note of caution….

“You don’t want to try these techniques at home.”

“Why not?" asked somebody from the audience.

“I watched my wife’s routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. “She would make lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her ‘Hon, why don’t you try carrying several things at once?’”

“Did it save time?" the person in the audience asked.

“Actually, yes" replied the expert. “It used to take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in seven”.

Many years ago (about 60) I saw a Blondie comic, where Dagwood comes home from work and Blondie asks him how his day went:

DAGWOOD: Oh, we had one of those efficiency experts around today. He changed us from paperclips to staples.

BLONDIE: Does that make things more efficient?

DAGWOOD: Well, no…last week we had one that changed us from staples to paperclips.

My uncle was a “time and motion” expert and worked for a large federal firm. I don’t know what exactly he did, but he made good money and was always in good spirits.

Real efficient.

We were always very polite to Federal people who came to our plant. Whether they were intelligent or not, they had lots of power.

We found most of them trying to tell how to do something better that they knew nothing about.

So many things these days, from products to repairs, are so subpar that I can’t help but wish for the good old days.
