True – I love my job and don’t plan on quitting it until I can no longer do it.

Besides retirement can get boring after a while.

I never was fortunate enough to experience that . Working was 40+ years of stress, boredom, and frustration. As a result, I retired “early” at 62. Maybe not the best decision financially, but I am happy, far less stressed, and it’s like a huge weight has been lifted off me. It’s nice to not dread getting out of bed M-F!

That’s one of those nifty sayings that applies to almost no one. I generally enjoyed my time as an engineer at Megacorp, but I didn’t regret deciding it was time to retire. I had in my back pocket the idea of doing part-time contracting or freelance work if I missed it too much. I didn’t.

I am still working as senior plus person. Only part time these years, but still working in the profession I went to school to learn plus it was the family profession. As long as my clients still send me their work to do, I will keep working.

Plus husband and I work as craftspeople as we enjoy doing so – and the small amount we make (from all this combined) doesn’t hurt.
