Worked with some guys who used to keep as low a profile as possible. They told me that they thought that would keep them out of trouble, and make them unlikely to get laid off.
Didn’t work. Other backstabbers realized that they were good cannon fodder since our cliquey boss didn’t know much about what they actually did… when layoffs came those guys were in the first cut.
