It was so sad. I’ve been looking to rescue a dog and would love a basset. There’s one that’s a mix of basset and beagle (another breed I love), but it’s sad because it looked like all the universe did was take a basset body and put a beagle head on it. So no glorious long ears and a weird-looking dog.

This is true. Basset can’t really lift those magnificent long velvety ears.

Yeah, I’ve seen that before. A basset hound’s ear pricking is that the droop shifts upwards about 3/4 of an inch.
