After moving into the home we’re currently living in after just 2 years in we had to get a repairman. This went on and off for several years, it finally died and we replaced it with a fantastic company and they guaranteed their work. So my husband and I took their policy (very cheap for a year) and if we ever have a problem it wouldn’t cost us to have them come out if there was a problem.

my ac unit failed, needed a startup capacitor maybe $100, but the repairman said the entire unit needed to be replaced. $10K. The repairman was just a sales person .

AC goes out in the summer… furnace goes out in the winter. Yep, right on schedule.

It should be no surprise that companies can’t suddenly “staff up” when a heat wave is predicted. But it is.

Let’s see…we do have a technician available this Saturday, for quadruple overtime rate.

I recently had a/c issues. We called a guy on Friday and he showed up on time the following Monday. $173.00 to charge freon and clean out water blockage. I’ve had guys who charge $200 just to say hello. There’s a lot of competition in Florida. I use someone who’s been recommended by friends. Good luck and stay cool.☺️

True that. It’s nearly impossible to get on the schedule before one has a heat stroke.

I’ve occasionally been without air conditioning in the summer and occasionally without heat in the winter. IMO, the latter is preferable.
