Wrong tactic Brutus, tell her you substituted some of the things on the list for some of your own tasks. You don’t have to elaborate and say you made yourself a drink, watched TV, etc..
Hilarious – that was a literal laugh out loud for me! Brutus set her up for that one beautifully. It’s not often he gets to stick it to the man, uh I mean woman!
Brutus has to be credited for saving himself some labor. He should mow the lawn, but didn’t say he would mow the lawn and he crosses things off his “Honey Do” list without doing them. Yes, indeed…Brutus is smart!
Why do men expect women (in the comics for sure, but sometimes in real life, too) to do all their chores that might affect them, but will themselves be very proud if they can find a way out of doing needed chores that often become theirs because the woman herself does not know how to do them or can’t? I know not everyone fits both boxed, but still. It’s an ongoing theme and I was married to one who could fix anything, agree to fix things and refuse to teach me how. I found a way around it, but it seems to be too common a situation.
We’ve never had a ‘honey do" list in our house, but if I pulled this kind of gag on my wife, I’d be sure to follow up by telling her, yes, I actually did get a few things done while she was out. Is Brutus so wise? He should be (he’s been married long enough), but since we can’t see the next panel in their lives, I guess we’ll never know.

Some say, “Do something.” Others say, “Let it be someone else’s problem.”

Brutus, WHY? Why would yourself up for a battle and a night on the couch?

1) Make to do list.
2) Check off first thing on to do list.
3) Realize you’ve already accomplished 2 things.
4) Reward yourself with nap (in progress)

My wife asked me to rearrange the furniture, and oh boy, it took me over half an hour to think up an excuse….

Finally a solution to completing my honey do list so I can move on to my bucket list.

Yay Brutus! That’s one way to whittle down the number of chores. You realize of course that Gladys will simply re-add them to the list…

Even though she calls him “You Hoo Brutus”, Brutus looks more like he’s in a ‘pirate’ state of mind; “Yo Ho Ho, and a bottle [glass] of rum.”

Brutus has been kind of feisty lately. Gladys seems to be accepting……maybe TOO accepting……
