In rapid succession?

Does Rover mean to chomp down over and over again in rapid succession?

It’s usually Rover who likes the Mintz Twins whereas Red dislikes them so they are both acting out of character here.

In one strip where Rover stayed in the pool with the Mintz Twins when Red was leaving, a reader commented, “Rover is a traitor!” Another reader replied, “Rover is like Hobbes.”

The “funk it is”?

It would be an interesting twist if the Mintz twins knew Ruby and could provide Red with contact…..but it would come at a cost, of course.

Look on the bright side Red. School starts this month and you can get back to Ruby.

Actually, “funkitis” is a good thing in a musical context!
