They’ll Take Your Time, Your Energy… And Your Stuff
Back in my call centre days at one particular place, I had to use my personal laptop for work. Everyone at that call centre had to, except a few.
I knew it wasn’t ideal, but my tax agent helped me claim my laptop on my taxes, so I was fine with it.
Obviously, I’d take it home at the end of the day. At one point, they tried to convince me to leave it there so others could use it to work. (What the f***?)
I had to turn down three separate managers who wanted me to unlock my laptop during my lunch break for various someone else’s to use.
But the real doozy was, when I left, they tried to tell me that since I’d claimed my laptop on tax, I had to leave it behind because it (somehow) made it theirs?
It looks like Brutus has been watching the new Break Dancing debut at the summer Olympics. (That is a new modern twist to the old ‘Hop, Skip and a Jump.’)
If you spent all week with Rancid and then came home to find “that” mother in law you’d realize that either sleep or a drunken stupor are appropriate safeguards for sanity.
Even on the highway of life, you have to hit the rest stops sometimes. This is me within a couple of hours getting home from work any night. And I really try to stay up to a reasonable time so I don’t wake up really early.
Now, if she would put on a big dinner and have the house full of its smell, he might miss the chair and ooo and aaah over his lade’’s culinary delight. Evidently, she expected Brutus to provide all the delights. I can remember bringing home the double burgers from Sonic on Friday. They had a sale on in those, days.

That’s okay Brutus, you’ve worked hard and put up with the vagaries of Veeblefester’s whims all week. You deserve a relaxing night at home.
