I’d like to be able to run a marathon. I probably wouldn’t do it, but it would be nice to be able to.

Thinking he’d like to run one, and liking running one, are two distinct things.

You? Run a marathon?! BWAHAHAHHAHA!! Look, when you learn how to not break the scale by setting one toe on it, we’ll talk.

The only way I would even try to run a marathon is there was something chasing me ready to bite my @$$ off. But, after a short distance, I’d say eff it, I don’t need an @$$.
