When I was 37 and a half years old, I decided to take my health seriously. I stopped smoking, started eating properly and started an exercise program. I did this slowly.
I decided that if it took me 37.5 years to get out of shape, I’d spend 37.5 years getting back into shape, reaching my physical peak at age 75.
When my great-grandmother was in 60s (having given birth 10 times), she could stand on one stair and, straight-legged, lay her hands flat on the stair below it.
