We did not worship Barack Obama. We did not worship Hillary Clinton. We did not worship Joe Biden (in fact, we pressured him to step aside when he no longer was our best option) and we do not worship Kamala Harris.
That’s the thing with conservatives and their commentators. They think everything has to be about “worship” just because that what happens in the Trump cult.
No, we just select candidates to serve in public office, the way politics and government used to be.
In this time and place, Kamala Harris is the best option among viable alternatives. Period. That’s all. No one needs to read anything into it beyond that.
Cult? The dems have never been close to being a cult. Only the masses of deplorables got them half way organized. Only Joes timely sacrifice possibly saved them. Throwing the much too early debate (unheard of before a convention), then withdrawing between conventions was a stroke of genius. If the dems convention had been first, it wouldn’t have been as effective.
Donald Trump had many accomplishments as president, and I hope that if Kamala Harris wins the 2024 election, that she too will have many accomplishments. Joe Biden, who has been involved in politics for half a century, has had zero accomplishments. A second presidential term of a Joe Biden presidency would have been lethal for America and American Workers.
We do not worship Kamala Harris, just as we didn’t worship Barack Obama when he first ran for President in 2008. We voted for Obama then because we thought he would be a better Prez than John McCain. We voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 (who, BTW, won the popular vote, but not the electoral one) because we thought she would do a better job of running the country than DJT. We will be voting for Harris because we’d much rather see her running the country than Trump. We didn’t worship Joe Biden either, we thought he is doing a good job running the country but we were glad that he ultimately stepped aside to let Harris run. We are a political party, not a cult. We don’t think our candidates are Gods, we realize they are people with weaknesses and foibles like everyone else. But we think they are better suited for the job than the alternatives from the GOP.
The Dems are a cult, they worship not a person, that doesn’t matter. They worship agendas, they worship politics, they worship social media, and above all they worship themselves. They truly seem to think all you have to do to be perfect is to put a D after your name. That, and attack, burn and hate anything or anyone that does not think as you are told. Just read today’s comments, what direction is the hate flowing? The replies to this will bare me out. Though they will not know it.
The Democrats rarely unite even to defeat Republicans that make it easy by shooting themselves in the foot constantly. The GOP should still be out of business from the 2008 Great Recession, just as the Great Depression hurt them in 1929. conservatives take advantage of that ‘big tent’ Democrat division and march in lock-step, as they do for tRump. Stantis is just in line.
Both sides are somewhat guilty of (although the GQP is more visible) ignoring the impact of the Independent / unaffiliated vote. Even if both major political parties vote purely partisan, neither has enough votes to win by themselves.
In a way, partisan voting is cultist. Partisans assume that their candidates are perfect due to their party affiliation. Independents evaluate individuals’ past performance and personality traits. But before one attacks Independents, one should realize that bullying rarely earns their support. The election is more complex than partisan voting. We don’t need public shaming carried out by our own citizens against our own citizens.
No one’s worshipping Harris, Scott. You’re confusing “committing crimes (up to and including participating in an insurrection) for Dear Leader” with “supporting your party’s nominee for President”.
I sure didn’t want Hilary but I sure didn’t want Trump. I’m at the same point now. I do like that I’m going about life now feeling bit lighter and with a smile on my face. Must be the hope.
What I find interesting and amazing and refreshing (and surprising) is that what I see is nothing like that. The folks in front should be shown jumping up and down, cheering, waving their hands, and just generally celebrating. What? A person who is competant, knowledgeable, ethical, and potentially able to keep trump from getting back in the white house and completing the job he and his handlers started in 2016, which was turning this country into an authouritarian theocracy. Cause for cautious celebration indeed. She is by no means the perfect candidate, but worth supporting!

… and Stantis immediately snaps back to both siderism.
Stantis is so desperate to equate Kamala’s popularity with Trump’s cult followers that he becomes as weird as Trump and The Disciples.

A cult is a cult is a cult. It won’t be Jonestown but it will still be a disaster nonetheless.

Scott, the day Democrats run a convicted felon for President is the day this “both sides” nonsense might be valid. As of now, this is idiotic.

Kamala “DEI” Harris parading around in Hillary’s hand-me-down pant suits – what a clown show!

And in DJT’s case, they’re basically kissing his butt.

The democratic party is a machine. Doesn’t matter who the president is.

Pathetic, Stantis, just pathetic. Don’t you supervise whoever does this nonsense?
It’s got your name on it.
