(Looks it up)… Now I know what a “Krebs cycle” is. In a year or two I will be thinking “What was that called again?”.

“He’s texting me! Its a linguistic marvel!

    “What is he saying?”

“How should I know, Zeke is the only person who can read his language.”

“Uh, Dexter? If no one can understand a word he says how do you know he’s a genius?”

Dexter, we need school to prepare us for the real world. Not to mention boost our social skills. Also, the Krebs Cycle is a complex series of chemical reactions that produce carbon dioxide and Adenosine triphosphate (ATP), a compound rich in energy.

There is a German short story “Ein Tisch ist ein Tisch” that describes the danger of inventing and using a one-person language…

I did not learn about the Kreb’s cycle until college. You can’t expect to learn everything in elementary school. Heck you can’t expect to learn everything, that does not mean that learning is a waste of time.

I’m not sure kids that age are old enough to learn about the Krebs cycle

I want everyone’s kids in school with everyone’s kids learning to get along with everyone. If they learn to read & add it’s a bonus.

The Lord of the Rings and all that came out of the private languages Tolkien invented that no one else could understand, so you never know.

The Islets of Langerhans are small enough that you can’t use an automobile to tour them, you have to use a Krebs cycle.

The Krebs Cycle explains how Dobie Gillis’ friend Maynard changed his name, became a sailor, and wound up stranded on an island.

The Krebs Cycle is the series of chemical reactions involved in a cell’s metabolism, i.e., how organisms generate energy by oxidizing nutrients.

I remember that from high school, but I’m not sure about what happened yesterday.

Never heard of the Krebs Cycle – perhaps it did not exist back when I went to school several decades ago.

We will come across something – history, science, math, etc and husband will say to me – “Well, this is something I never heard of.” I will then explain to him what it is from my LONG AGO school memories. Or – he will need something odd calculated for some project he is doing and I will hear “I used to know how to calculate this” and I will give him the answer (no calculator, computer or adding machine used).

But – he was ill last weekend and I was suppose to do a special load of laundry for his clothes – when I went down to do the regular laundry tonight his clothes were sitting in the sealed plastic bag I put them in! Had to give them a good hand wash before putting in with the regular laundry.

Long term memory works good. Short term memory – not so much. Did I remember to wash the dishes before I started reading my weekly comics? …….Oh, good! I finished the dishes!
