I absolutely HATE when a recording asks for your acct number, you start to give it and it starts talking again and misses the 1st number of your acct. Happens every time. I tell it to shut up…it doesn’t help!
I bet if Rancid’s message said “At the beep don’t leave a message because I won’t return your call” Brutus would have remembered what he wanted to say and leave a message.
It’s like going into another room for something then forget why you’re there. Only to turn around to go out and it occurs to you what it was you went in there for!
which may explain why it took so long… welp, ya know what they say. if it’s that important, then call back… not quite sure if it went that way, but it still works in my book. ;)
What I keep making a mess of is making calls where there are multiple times to press a specific number, and a list of options to listen to. They always say that the numbers have changed, even when they never have. I will have the phone at my ear, and then they start with a list. When I remove the phone from my ear so I can press a key, I miss hearing one or two options. Why can’t companies leave a split second for people like me? Am I the only one who finds it easier to talk on the phone with it against my ear? I do have a weird ear issue going on, and using the phone that way helps, but it can be frustrating getting to the correct extension sometimes.

Rancid is busy: he’s counting the contents of his bags of money.

At the sound of the beep, hang up and send me a text.

Then when you finally get to a human, they ask for your account number again

Hopefully Brutus remembered to hang up before saying what he just said.

That’s ok Brutus. You can call back and leave a message. If nothing else, you get to irritate Veeblefester with the second call.

When I have to make an important call, I always have the information written down so it can’t be forgotten.

Been there done that. Good thing Veebs included his middle initial so there could be no confusion about reaching some other Rancid Veeblefester!
