I like this comic, wouldn’t have it in my lineup otherwise. Today’s is very cute.
However, this joke is effective and amusing without assigning gender to them. Slowly we have evolved. The bag/satchel isn’t necessary and only perpetuates an outdated way of seeing society. Have seen this sort of unconscious assumption in other comics over the years and have let it pass, just hit my limit today.
