I’m researching how much grant money I can get without actually doing any meaningful research.

Nothing can top the Aunt farm!

Better be careful, sir. If you get the formula wrong, you will accidentally shrink yourself down to the size of those mice. You will then be stuck in one of the classic science-fiction cliches – trapped forever in a world of giant aunts! (I think it was Randall Garrett who came up with this Feghoot but I’m not certain I remember that correctly)

Rare when anybody does any actual research in order to win an online argument… even rarer for the opponent to honor that research…

I had a girlfriend who was a cancer researcher. She took me to the lab one day. After giving a test injection to a rabbit, I heard her tell it that, if it survived the trials, she would let it loose in the mountains.

I pointed out it would last about ten minutes in the wild but she said it was all she could do for them.

Lots of people doing their own research at Google University these days.
