I’m a bit confused by the beginning, here. Did Ronnie’s wife slug him INTO the pub?? Please explain what “off home” means. And Nosher should have better sense!

What does Nosher mean in context of this strip? Looking it up online has lots of references to Jewish cooking, and a definition of someone who snacks a lot . Neither seem to fit the way it’s used here. Help?
