Amen. But I just noticed the Rings Around Rosie’s left hand. Isn’t wearing them while riveting a safety violation? Maybe the earrings too. And does anyone else think Rosie’s left thumb is out of proportion to the fingers? I know — don’t let the facts get in the way of the story. Too all of us who’ve ever punched a clock, Happy Labor Day.
Showing off a few of Gil’s state championship rings, in anticipation of opening the football season. Vito from Goshen has the early line with good odds for a “winning season.” I put a dime on the Ultimate Trifecta: Valley title, State championship, Coach of the Year. Ya gotta believe!
Back in the Cold War days, I explained the difference between the USA and the Soviet Union by how they celebrated a workers’ holiday. In the USSR, you got up early on a cold and rainy day at the start of May, stood outside in the cold for a couple hours and the marched down the main street under the watchful eyes of the party bosses (who were also your regular bosses). In the USA, you got a day off in late summer, which you were expected to spend grilling, picnicking, going to the ball game, drinking a few beers. That, to me, explains everything.
