The Icelandic word for “telescope” literally means “star-viewer”. I have a 150/1500 mm (6/60 inches) reflecting telescope. I sometimes set it up in a nearby open area. There are often quite a few people around that area, and they sometimes stop and ask me what I’m doing. If it’s the middle of the day, I tell them that I’m using my star-viewer to look at the only visible star at that time (I have a solar filter). You wouldn’t believe how many times people ask “What star is that?”

Don’t know how the spider does it but makes a web across the path I go to pick the tomatoes. The gap is about 6’!! It took 5 times of taking it down to get the spider to change its venue.

That’s one clever spider.

Oh, yes, no problem at all believing you. I’m just hoping that 50% or more know which star that is. (just hoping; not expecting.

In swoop millions of butterflies, like fighters at Marianas Turkey Shoot, and spiders all swear to never assault Hammy again.

AHHHH!!!! Spiders do that for real. AHHH!!!

I wouldn’t want to eat a raccoon, partly given where it’s likely been. But since spiders eat flies…

And just when I’ve reached the part in ‘the Hobbit’ with the spiders as a lot!
