Some of my best days are when I go to bed thinking about all the things I’m going to get done the next day and wake up in the morning and I’m like, nah!
Is that because his wife did the ALL the work instead of him?
Until we were stuck in the house due to Covid and he became so bored he would do just about anything to keep his mind busy – I have done all the housework – yes, including taking out the garbage as he really wanted to go out.
However, he now knows where we bank (refused to know before*), where our post office and PO box is, how to food shop, and so on. Unfortunately this means it is extremely rare that I get to drive.
I had to go for jury duty last year and I realized I had not driven any of our vehicles more than the trip 3 blocks to our mechanic when it was raining and we couldn’t walk home/there to pick up when vehicle was done since start of Covid. I have always been the better and more comfortable driver (but he suffers from motion sickness and has to drive) and it bothered the heck out of me that I felt so uncomfortable at the thought of driving. I actually went out – alone – and drove around the neighborhood to practice driving again – in my late 60s! Luckily once I did I was comfortable doing so again. (Since then I have started back to my embroidery club meetings again and drive round trip to same once a month.)

My retirement motto: “I’ve got nothing to do and all day to do it.”

To much to do. Besides doing nothing cuts into beer drinking time . Best to keep moving while you still have the power to do it ;-)

That “nothing” should include not watching any TV. “Nothing” is not worth watching.

Nothing takes just a long as something. Usually I prefer something but, some days, nothing is fine. I no longer have to keep score. :)

Yep – I retired six weeks ago. Now some days I wake up with absolutely nothing to do, and take all day to do it!
