When my cat and I first moved in with my new wife, I was horrified to find she had left a little pile of bleaching powder on a stain on the kitchen counter. We had a very serious talk and I explained how she had endangered my cat’s life. The only way the cat could clean her paws, if she stepped in it, was by licking the powder.
She thought I was kidding, at first, but I convinced her that if she left such a hazard around again, I would leave and she would never see me again.
