Back in ’15 a good and politically savvy friend of mine opined that the “country was strong enough to survive” if Trump won the election. This was a sort of academic position since we both thought that Trump was so outre that HRC would win. (Neither of us liked her, but we both despised Trump. So, as Mark Twain opined on another subject, we looked on the canvas as “Heaven for climate and Hell for society.”)
I do not think that he would be as sanguine about a second (or third or fourth) Trump “presidency.”
We’ll survive, mainly because of that wonderful document called the Constitution. And, I don’t think he’ll win, anyway! Looking forward to seeing the first female president!!
Nah, if Trump DOES get elected, we’ll survive. We won’t be in great shape, but Americans are a LOT tougher than even other Americans realize. We’ll survive because Trump can’t get elected again after his 4 years. We’ll survive because as bad as Trump was/is, we’ve historically been under worse conditions and still pulled through. We’ll survive because, ultimately, we DO stand united, despite what the isolationists and dividers keep trying to do to defy that.
Sure, it’ll “hold”. But in what form? With how much damage? Why take the chance? Why have so many GOP types issued the same warnings about Trump? And why do the “experts” who post ignore those Republicans?

The buildings in question have been shuttered and the residents have been displaced.
I know the place well. I used to live a couple blocks away. It’s also a couple blocks away from the old Fitzsimmons Army Hospital, now the Anschutz Medical Center, headquarters of Uniersity of Colorado Health, one of Aurora’s prime jewels.
Yes, it’s not in the best neighborhood, but there is a lot of new development in the area as Anschutz is attracting a lot of people. This is also displacing a lot of residents as old buildings are demolished and new ones built.
As for the incident cited, this has all the appearance of true FAKE NEWS.
