For Better or For Worse by Lynn Johnston for February 09, 2001
Transcript:
Elly: John, I feel so guilty! If Dad hadn't been angry with me, he wouldn't have gone outside. John: Don't blame yourself. He's ok. It was a very mild heart attack. They're going to unclog a few arteries and then he'll be fine! The doctor said he was lucky! Elly: I wish I hadn't made him angry.- Anger can trigger these problems. Getting angry is likely the unhealthiest thing we do! I'm so glad you were with him. Where was he going? John: To buy a pack of smokes. Elly: Aaagh!

Holding in anger, and other things - like smoking, and age - contribute to risk of heart attack too. Elly is not to blame here.

This hits hard. Lost my dad to a heart attack 4 years ago this year. October 11 2020, Thanksgiving Monday, and of course it was a leap year. He was only 57.
