There is a famous grammar book titled “Eats, Shoots & Leaves” about how a comma makes a difference in the description of a panda (and other things) by Lynne Truss.
It is completely different when written as “Eats Shoots and Leaves”. (A less violent panda)
(I have no idea why an ampersand is used in the title.)
I remember a joke about a panda that comes into a restaurant, puts a handful of salad in his mouth, and then shoots a gun. “Why are you doing this?” asked a waiter. The panda handed him a book with a bookmark and exits. The bookmark was in a section about pandas. It said: “Eats, shoots, and leaves.”

The neighborhood kids are probably used to it. We had a part border collie when I a kid. He liked to herd us when we played.

Rover does what he’s told to do.

Since a boy is too big for Rover to fetch in his mouth, he thought of another way. Sooo cute, Brian!
