When I was a kid, granted there were still dinosaurs, we didn’t have that. We had the dreaded “Resource Room” and it had a terrible stigma to it. The name took on Orwellian dimensions, not a room of resources, but a place you did not want to be tied to by your peers.
Back in my school days, shortly after “the Great Flood,” we had a boy in Grade 4 who had been held back at least 5 years. He sat at the back of the room, well behind me so I have no idea what he did during class. His younger brother graded, along with me, in Grade 5 and other than seeing him on the playground, I have no knowledge of what happened to him. Where are you Freddie?
There’s something wrong with that class. And it’s a big enough issue to last through all of October (as this arc is scheduled to have 71 comics and we’re currently at 25).

Oh that took a turn. I know he didn’t mean to be rude or discriminatory but…let’s just say Miles has a habit of being accidentally insensitive

There is nothing wrong with Special Education. She is just being bigoted.

She might be right, if the story goes weird. Makes sense to be a little confused and curious and think something unknown is bad.

I’m assuming that Carla has had some bad experiences with that special Ed class.

I think Kevin won’t be the only one learning something from this arc.

Pfft! If regular school couldn’t break Kevin, nothing will!

Nice trap Carla set for Miles…
Yes, it is all in the delivery, that’s for sure.

Love how the story arc is evolving. Very honest and brave.

I’m thinking those flower medallions might have something to do with it.

You are perpetuating the stigma against all learners. Those kids have it hard enough without you pushing old stereotypes
