Not quite–in panel 3, Lizzie’s eyeing Chris’ teddy bear; in panel 4, Christopher makes a preemptive strike to deter Lizzie’s attempts, and in the last panel we see the 2 kids fighting, so it’s hard to say that just because Lizzie was eyeballing the bear that she actually intended on grabbing it away. I think we need to take this to court. We have too many idle lawyers looking for a case like this to establish precedence and other similar disasters.
Yes, bald 716. My brother and I started fighting as soon as since he was old enough to hit back and didn’t stop until he went to Japan in the Air Force.
Do tell. Here is proof that kids are accustomed to hitting and punching (a normal routine part of growing up, which some nonetheless seem determined to term “vlolence”). Bot whaddaya know? They do it to one another! And because we have the benefit of knowing what happens from the first run of this strip, we know that Elizabeth and Michael didn’t grow up dealing with their “wounded inner child” as a result and that they actually get along with one another just fine. How about that!
Lizzie tried to get that stuffed bear that Christopher holds but he whacked her to back off from getting that stuffed bear. But why the earth did Lizzie not take her own stuffed rabbit when Elly and Lizzie were at Annie’s house? Por favor! :-/
You have more than one so they can entertain each other. You have to trade long term pay off with the pain of short term youth. Also you have more than one so they have family once you are gone.
That being said I have sibling friends who have never been able to get along, even as adults. My little bro and I did not like each other in school but now get along great, ever since I went away to college
And kids go through phases. My daughter had a friend who hit (3yo). We stopped having playgroups for a while, she grew out of it and now they love each other again.
Howtheduck, into their 20s, yes. I never disputed that. But in the original strip’s final months, they got along much more amiably, despite the occasional “Lizard Breath” comments.
I agree with CeeC. My husband is an only child, and his parents don’t like being social with the family. So my husband doesn’t like being around a lot of people. Each of my Uncles had 3 kids each and my mom had my brother and me. We would get together about 5 or 6 times a year and spend about a week together. That on top of visiting each Uncle separately thro the year too. My family is very close and now my Husband is close to my family too. When his parents pass, all he’ll have is my family.
We wanted lots of kids ourselves, but was only granted one. I want him close to his cousins and such so that when we go he isn’t by himself.

Exactly like brother and sister. I hope everyone is doing well, and had a great labour/labor day break.

There just toddlers who don’t understand. Ellie should have given Lizzie her own stuffed animal.

Fishstix- I agree, made the mistake of having 3. Super dumb. Never let the kids outnumber the adults!

Fish Stix, no one knows why people want more than one kid. I heard that people are sane until they have a kid, maybe thats it.

Not a lawyer, here.
Lizzie is guilty. She has her hands on the bear in the last panel.
