mail carrier’s safety tip number seven:
always keep your mail satchel between you and the dog as you approach and keep your hand on your can of pepper spray…..
also beware of which way the wind is blowing if you have to use the pepper spray!
@nighthawks - also make sure you have the can pointed the right way. My uncle was a mailman when they first issued pepper spray, and the cans mounted backword so you couldn’t accidentally hit the top and spray it infront of you. First time he had to use it, he whipped it off his belt and sprayed it straight up his sleeve…
