Getting started is the hard part with me. Once I get started, I do fine.

I have three sisters, one is a year younger than me, another nine years, and the other 11 years. When the closest and me moved out the younger two inherited our chores. We weren’t there but we heard the stories about all the “woe is me” that went around. The youngest actually rebelled and when she had children of her own she didn’t make them too chores as she thought it was inhumane. Now she and her children all live in messy dirty homes, sad.

No one should have to do anything. Let the government take care of it.

Apparently this is going around. My wife informed me last night that we’re going to do the fall cleaning today. Sigh.

Yesterday I did a load of laundry and installed a dog gate on the stairs…and coughed a lot. Day Six of a cold. I rarely get sick, but when I do, it’s a cold.

One thing that helps, but doesn’t quite fix my procrastination problem is, the day after I was intending, but didn’t do the chore, I tell myself “If you had done this yesterday, you wouldn’t still have to do it…”

When I don’t want to wash my dishes I tell myself that I should be grateful that I have dishes and food and a kitchen to cook in. I still don’t want to do dishes but I feel less grumpy.
