I’ve been seeing inflatable Halloween decorations out on lawns since Labor Day, a full two months early, so it took less than a decade since this was first published to come true. “Christmas season” has been starting on November 1st for a number of years now. Thanksgiving is only acknowledged for the Black Friday sales.

While I’m here, I might as well report that my local Wal-Mart has already gone full Halloween mode, and it’s not even October yet.
