Why do I get the impression 2.52cm will change into a trout?

I saw that movie on TV in the 70’s as a kid. I’m a cat lover and cried my eyes out. But for a caterpillar, I don’t think so.

I used to drive my parents nuts singing that in the back of the car. Didn’t help us get out of traffic any quicker either. :)

Um, why 2.52? An inch is 2.54 cm. Or is this something I missed earlier?
