Not so long ago one, could have a single cable box for full service on one’s main TV, while any other TV’s in the house got “basic” cable. Now we have to have a separate box, at an additional rental fee, for every TV in the house. We refuse. So now I have non-functioning TV’s in several rooms and a bare bones cable plan and several streaming subscriptions for the main one. Only keep cable at all because I need their internet connection and because none of the streaming services carry our local news. Still over $150 a month, just to watch screens. And we spend half of our viewing time trying to figure out what is on which service when and if we can record it somehow. Cable was so much easier, and better, before they got greedy and started jacking up prices every other week. And we wonder why so many people have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. But, I digress…
