    “Inconceivable!”

“You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.”

“My name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die!”

“Who says life is fair, where is that written?”

“Her heart was a secret garden and the walls were very high.”

“Love is many things none of them logical.”

    “Who are you?"

    “No one of consequence.”

    “I must know.”

    “Get used to disappointment.”

    “As you wish…”

“And that’s when she put her book down. And looked at me. And said it: "Life isn’t fair, Bill. we tell our children that it is, but it’s a terrible thing to do. It’s not only a lie, it’s a cruel lie. Life is not fair, and it never has been, and it’s never going to be.”

I won’t say the book is better than the movie, because I don’t think it is. But it does give a different perspective on the story, and it’s worth reading.

Every so often I come across threads about remaking Princes Bride (so I am going to start one here). Most people seem to like the idea of a Muppet version. Personally I want is them to have Fred Savage as a father or grandfather telling the story. Then recut the original movie, with alternative takes/cut scenes.

A wonderful thing about the movie is, it seems everyone has seen it. Spew any of the more distinct quotes (like, “I do not think [that word] means what you think it means” or and whoever you are talking to gets the reference.

Aside, I have a coffee cup that has what looks like a name tag on it. It reads “Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya, you drank my coffee. Prepare to die.’”

“Hey, Dad – wanna watch The Princess Bride with me?”

    “As you wish.”
