This is why I haven’t ever left my dog for one night. I need that little pressure of her warm little body against my ankles, or wherever she is when I wake up during the night. It’s comforting and routine. All my pets have slept on my bed, even when I had two beagles and three cats. When I was in the ER this summer, my dog went with me. It was the ER we visit during dog therapy, so the night staff was delighted to see her. They don’t get to see many of our therapy dogs, but some also work the day shift at times and at least half of them called my dog by her name. No one suggested she shouldn’t be there. Most stopped by to give her a few pets. I was only there 5 hours, which isn’t bad for a Friday night. I put her hospital badge on her, so she felt she was working and was very calm and content. She gave me a look, which I interpreted as, “Two weeks ago you spent 5 hours in the doggy ER with me, and I am happy to do the same for you.”

if they weigh that much, they’re not pets – they’re livestock!

They’re home thinking it’s so nice to have the whole bed without the lumps.

Watch out for vultures, though; that one piece appears to be carry-on.

Cats that weigh 10 pounds during the day automatically add another 20 pounds when the lights go out. Suitcase is about right.
