I hate traveling and got to go to a wedding and fly there. I also hate functions, oh joy!! They say getting away is healthful, not for me, stressed out.
Since the late ‘60s I’ve been on 500 or so flights. Fun at first but the hate came and never stopped growing. Every detail of the experience I hated separately and totally. About five years ago I said never again, no matter what. The relief, the inner peace is real.
Today’s panel brought to mind the stress of having boarded and the neighboring seat is still open as the rest of the passengers file in.
From what I read flying today is more fraught with peril than ever.
I’m glad we can no longer meet an incoming flight at the gate. More secure, as intended, and also it doesn’t clog up the tunnel as people are exiting the plane. Save the hellos for baggage claim, or the sidewalk.
We have had decent experiences with Delta, American & United. When we went to Hawaii we flew on Alaska Air & found them to be really good. Frontier is another matter, I will walk to the destination before I fly on them ever again.
Among the recent practices that I dislike is Gina & I being seated in different rows on the plane. To sit in adjacent seats there’s an up-charge of several hundred dollars.

There is being on a plane with people who had beans for lunch (PPPUFFFART)!

Plus, the in-flight movie was ‘Funny Girl’, with Barbra Streisand singing “People Who Need People Are the Most Wonderful People in the World”!

I will only fly if I can afford business class or first. I just can’t deal with being in cattle class. An anxiety disorder doesn’t help.

It could have been worse. It could have been a cargo plane.

I’ve been on that flight. Every time.

Loretta’s meeting Leroy at the gate? Well that takes you back.

The other passengers coming out look happy. Maybe it’s because they’re no longer with you. :)

We fly round-trip once a year on vacations.

I still love flying, I hate the closeness of it all. I am so in touch with this one.
