    Valette Greene, Jim’s first assistant and the sole inker of the strip until 1997, passed away on January 17, 2007. This strip pays tribute to her in the title panel and her name is hidden in the stars in the last panel.

    I had a little difficulty finding Valette’s name. Maybe it’s easier in the newspapers. Anyhow, the title panel is my favorite, and Garfield’s conversation with Pooky is also sweet. ^_^

    It takes time for a finished strip to be published… They are at least done a month ahead of time…
