I’ve been told that our community, a so-called bedroom community next to an actual city, allows us to keep 2 chickens (penned, of course) if we desire. Too much work, IMHO.
When I was young and worked on the farm ….. twice a year we would get hired to clean out chicken barns (use to be several around the area, back then) …….. talk about the ammonia smell and add that to a diesel tractor in a low ceiling barn …… it’s a wonder that my lungs are as good a shape as they are …….. :)

I kept my chickens about 100 feet distant from the house for good reasons.

How many chickens does he have? They are only good for 4-5 eggs each a week.
