As a teenager, Audrey was a member of the Dutch resistance. She survived the starvation of the winter of 1944 – 1945 by eating grass and tulip bulbs. She endured digestive and metabolism problems (she could never gain weight and had difficult pregnancies) fir the rest of her life. It is believed the starvation was a major contributing factor in her final illness. She was born the same year as Anne Frank and they lived less than 10 kilometres apart from each other.

It’s Hepburn who was impossible. No one could be that beautiful. (Okay, Ingrid Bergman, but that’s the list.)
