Been in our house for 35 years – less than 10 trick or treaters total in that time.
To be fair up until Covid started for a decade plus we had been away to Lancaster, PA for my birthday as there is much less Halloween there than here. The year husband took me out, with a dine around book we had bought, to a REALLY NICE restaurant – the kind we could not afford without the coupon book – had a dance band and dance floor – not the usual place we would go for dinner was the last year we went out for dinner around here for my birthday. Waitress was a female football player covered in dirt and busboy was a science experiment gone bad and covered in “blood”. Not really what one wants when eating out – especially at expensive place. After that he agreed with me – my birthdate is worse than his and he started taking me away for same.
But we do live on a main street and only know the neighbor to either side of us – and the neighbor across the (4 lane) street and us we know only to wave to each other. There are maybe 5 at a generous guess children on our block and no one would come to us from around the corner or across the street.

Do adults get treats as well?

When we hand out candy everyone who wants one gets a treat. We don’t care if you’re 9 or 90!

Of course, Lola doesn’t need no stinking trick or treat bag. Lola eats the candy as she gets it.
