I’m cabin crew for an airline and our plane has landed in Cairo, Egypt. We’ve disembarked and my colleagues and I are in the airport terminal waiting for our shuttle to the crew hotel.
I see a couple of passengers from my flight walking up to the taxi lane:
Passenger: Pointing at a sign. “Oh, look! They’re still using hieroglyphics!”
Passenger’s Wife: “Darling, that’s a no smoking sign and a picture of a taxi.”
I worked in a medical school at one time, and a mummy arrived for dissection. I was present when they began the unwrapping. The smell is distinct, and the person is well preserved. I was given about a foot of wrapping. I kept it for years, until someone I know who home schools was teaching the kids about ancient Egypt. I donated it to them. While working, I was able to see the mummy regularly as the dissection continued. It was very interesting. I didn’t see anyone in capris, but who knows? That was just one mummy.

I’m going to have to report this. You can’t put those hieroglyphs in a family comic!

I think in Ancient Egypt’s time (when I was a kid) they were called pedal pushers.
