You don’t often see a whatever-that-is wearing a top hat.

Don’t worry, kid. You’re never going to be a teenager.

One day my son admitted he didn’t want to do something his friends were pressuring him to do. It was nothing bad, but he felt forced into it. I told him that anytime he didn’t want to do something that he felt peer pressure to do, he could blame his stupid old dad who wouldn’t let him do it. He apparently used that one several times over the years.

Sounds like “Rumspringa” that the Amish teenagers get to experience.

How about intervention by old folks that are not so moldy?

I remember when I was about 7 years old, my teenage second cousin coming into my grandmothers house and asking his mother if he could go to a party at the lake. She said yes. As he walked past me on his way out, I heard him mutter, “I wish just once she would say no.” I never forgot that and realized even at that young age that children want guidelines from their parents.

Does Nerwin have a mother? Has she ever appeared in the strip?

When I saw green and a top hat I thought it was Jiminy Cricket.
