Who does he think he is? You’d think he’s under the impression he owns the place. In reality, everyone knows that even though Dear pays for the house and pays the bills, the dog, you Fred, own it including first dibs on the chair. He needs to read the ownership clause in the contract again between you and them. It’s spelled out.
Sorry Fred but you’re too big for him to do what I do with my kitties who occupy my chair. I go to the kitty, pet it real nice, and it knows I want to sit in my chair. I pick up the kitty and sit down with her on my lap. After a while she will leave of her own volition but at least I didn’t unceremoniously dump her out like Mr. Dear did poor Fred!
I guess Fred strained his “master’s” good nature!… My dog used to sit on the couch when I was home, but as soon as my husband walked in… he would jump off!!!..

Mr Dear not only strained his relations with Fred but also risked straining his own back.

Subtle, Mr. Dear!

I agree that Mr. Dear should be able to sit in his favorite chair. However, he could have been nicer about it.

He needs a footrest….Fred!

One of the hardest things to do when you own a dog is trying to get out of a recliner while the footrest is up and the dog is asleep in your lap.
