I used to work for the IT department of the city of Reykjavik. There was one guy there (or not, depending on how you look at it) who always worked from home, even long before the pandemic. He lived in Austria.
Even during the pandemic, my husband’s employer still wanted him to come to the office at least 3 days a week. While hardly anyone else was there and my husband is an application manager, all his work can be done remote from home.
I retired 4 months before the pandemic hit. My job might have been complicated as a “work from home” doing site surveys and construction inspections. I was glad to be already “home.”
