Mr. Dear is missing the proper attitude/emotion……

Back in the days when film cost money.

Mr. Dear is not being kind and obviously can’t tell when Fred is smiling. He’s very out of touch.

My brother had a Spaniel named Benji. Whenever someone asked Benji if he wanted his picture taken he would jump up on the couch and sit in the same exact position. I have several pictures of him; the only way you can tell that they’re different is the length of his fur and the couch itself (different couches).

If you originally read the strip from the beginning, Mr. Dear might not seem so…frustrating. But I didn’t start reading regularly until much later, after he mellowed. It’s a bit more off-putting.

C’mon! Halloween is over. Take off that ridiculous mask.

I know it’s a comic, but I’d happily kick Mr. Dear in rear for that unkind remark.☺️
