Grog not grok ‘Patent Office’…

Both inventions needed each other.

Trees invented sticks. If I find a new species of spiders I haven’t invented them. Fire was dangerous stuff. Person who figured out a way to make it safe deserves the credit.

Wait until they discover marshmallows over a campfire!

Not to over-analyze a comic strip, but fire was not invented. Kinda already existed.

That would be the invention of the “torch”. Fire had to come before that. It’s not a chicken-and-the-egg deal. :)

In science there is Stigler’s Law of Eponymy. It states that no important discovery in science is named after the person who first discovered it.
