I have noticed that whenever there is a commercial for a medication or a medical procedure I always seem to have these symptoms, including those not of my gender.
My wife was diagnosed with PCOS shortly after the birth of our first son. If the depression is because you don’t think you can get pregnant, don’t let it get you down. We went through IVF treatments. It took years (8) but it finally worked. There were over a dozen eggs. luckily we ended up with only twins. The next year she was pregnant again. We were both 36. I felt like an old man, if the baby had ben a boy he was going to be Isaac. It was a girl. Grace! With gods grace it will happen Amanda. You will be a mother. Birth or adoption (which we also did) doesn’t change the love presented to you. With the prayers of all your readers, it will happen. It will happen, keep the faith! Love, Keith
That’s a new one (PCOS) for me. At least it covers all the symptoms. Do you have to have them all to qualify? I have early onset Alzhimer’s. It helps me to forget I have alot of those other things too! My Dad had it, so I kinda know what to expect, and I’m sure I’ll still be here everyday enjoying your art and your life Amanda. At least as long as possible :-)
Have you tried any treatment options? PCOS is best attacked with several medications and other treatment options. Combination birth control pills. Pills that contain both estrogen and progestin decrease androgen production and regulate estrogen. Regulating your hormones can lower your risk of endometrial cancer and correct irregular bleeding, excess hair growth and acne. But would Father Brain approve? Walking, dietary changes, weight loss (sometimes just 5% will help). I am not an Ob-Gyn, but a few of our patients at the clinic suffer PCOS and I have read up on it in case I get any of them for other needs. I’m sure that you have stacks and stacks of material and know web addresses by heart, but working with your caregivers together you can find the best program for your needs. Hang in there.
I experience the majority of those. I’m male though so I don’t think my doctor would prescribe the drug they’re advertising for me. It’s mildly interesting that most of them are also symptoms of perimenopause, something that’s no fun but unavoidable. I still get mad when I see prescription drug ads.
I helped a friend through many rounds of IVF. They had a girl. She is an only child. I am aunt material, not mom material, and I definitely feel badly for all the women who want to be moms, but aren’t yet.

I’ve got all of those symptoms and I don’t even have ovarians, so I wouldn’t worry about it.

Ah. Haagen Daz won’t fix that. But, it won’t really hurt either.

And guess what! Once you have the PCOS in check, you can look forward to perimenopause, and menopause! Yayyyyy! ;)
I do have to mention that “feeling unheard” is a common symptom of having 2 X chromosomes.
