    They do typically have way too many handicap parking places and you often have to walk by so many empty spaces as you park way further back. I don’t think they need so many.

    Sounds like some real “first-world” problems you got there. Be happy you’ve got a functional car, money to shop, and the health to walk the short distance from your car to the store.

    The only city I’ve been in where the handicap spaces were busy was Phoenix, AZ.

    my ex’s niece was declared legally blind by the State of Florida, and was even given seeing eye dog by the state…then the State of Florida, with it’s infinite wisdom, allowed her to keep her driver’s license!!!—-she would literally drive to Publix, park in the handicapped space, then get out of car with her dog and put on her dark glasses and she carried a cane
